Varieties of Papaya

  • Pusa Delicious – This is a gynodious variety of papaya. Its plants are of medium height and give a good yield. It is fragrant and dark orange fruit giving variety.
  • Pusa Majesty – This is a great variety of papaya. It is also a gynodious variety. Its fruits are medium-sized and have good storage capacity. Its pulp is solid and yellow at ripening and 40 kg fruits are obtained from a tree. Its pulp thickness is 3.5 cm.
  • Pusa Dwarf – This is a diocese variety of papaya. Its plants are small and produce more fruit. The fruits are elliptical in the average weight of 1.0 to 2.0 kg. In the plant, fruits start growing 25 to 30 centimeters above the surface of the ground. This species is very suitable for intensive gardening. Its yields are 40 to 50 kg per plant.
  • Pusa Nanha – This is a very dwarf variety of papaya. In which, 15 to 20 centimeters of fruits start to rise above the surface of the land.
