Kyrgyzstan President Sooronbay Jeenbekov has given a traditional Kyrgyz hat and a coat to Prime Minister Narendra Modi throughout his official visit to Bishkek for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit.
President Jeenbekov, who greeted PM. Modi on Friday ahead of the SCO Council of Heads of State meeting, also offered him a ‘Samovar’, a traditional bottle to heat or boil water.
Prime Minister’s Office shared images of Modi wearing the Kyrgyz hat and coat on Twitter. “In Bishkek, President Jeenbekov gave PM Narendra Modi a Kalpak – traditional Kyrgyz hat, a Chapan, – traditional coat from Kyrgyzstan and a Samovar, a bottle to heat or boil water,” it stated on Twitter.
It stated that PM Modi was “obliged” to President Jeenbekov for this gesture. Mr. Modi was in Kyrgyz capital on Thursday and Friday to join the SCO Conference meeting, the first joint meeting posts his re-election.

Prime Minister Modi and President Jeenbekov on Friday held individual restricted conference followed by a delegation-level discussions during which the two sides conversed on walking up their mutual engagement to the next level and discovering new parts of cooperation.
