- Gulmarg ropeway is considered to be the longest in Asia, followed by Auli-Joshimath ropeway. The foundation stone of this 4.15 km long ropeway was laid by the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in 1982 and it was completed in 1994. This ropeway passes through 10 towers from the cedar forests. This ropeway, built on the jig-jack method, has an arrangement for landing and climbing from the number eight tower.

Jolly Grant Airport of Dehradun is the nearest airport which is 220 km from Auli. Everyday regular flights from cities like Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore come to Dehradun. Travelers can easily reach Auli via bus or taxi from the airport. Apart from this, Dehradun Airport is just 20 km from Rishikesh. If you want, you can also go to Auli Rishikesh because Rishikesh is connected to Aali via the road.
